Curriculum

Curriculum:
All students at St. James School receive instruction in the subjects of religion (including family life and Virtus Teaching Touching Safety), English, reading, spelling, math, social studies, science, art, Spanish, music, physical education and computer. All of our subjects are standards-based and informed by California State, Common Core, and Archdiocesan Standards.

Algebra:
St. James School offers algebra to all students during their 8th grade year. The course is a 9th grade Algebra class that covers the material offered in an Algebra 1 level high school course. The 8th grade is divided into Algebra and Honors Algebra. Honors Algebra course is accelerated to meet the needs of students who have mastered pre-algebra skills; Algebra reinforces pre-algebra skills and provides the opportunity for students to master basic Algebra.
