Student Council

Developing and creating Catholic Leaders is an important focus at SJS.  The Student Council serves as leaders of the school community.

Students in grades 5, 6 & 7 may run for Student Council offices. Students that are interested in running must attend a meeting with the moderator(s) in May.  At the meeting interested students will receive applications and requirements of running for office.  There are 2 campaign weeks and 2 elections: one for officers (open to 8th grade only) and one for commissioners. Students in grades 4 - 8 will attend the campaign speeches and have the opportunity to vote.

Student Council Members will serve volunteer hours performing a variety of school and community services. Examples of their service include the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances, pep rallies, score keeping for home games and will lead morning assemblies. Student Council members meet weekly at lunch recess or after school.
