Student Council

Developing and creating Catholic Leaders is an important focus at SJS.  The Student Council serves as leaders of the school community.

Students in grades 5, 6 & 7 may run for Student Council offices. Students that are interested in running must attend a meeting with the moderator in May.  At the meeting interested students will receive applications and requirements of running for office.  There are 2 campaign weeks: and 2 elections: 1 for officers and one for commissioners. Students in grades 4 - 8 will attend the campaign speeches and have the opportunity to vote.

Students will serve volunteer hours performing a variety of school and community services. Examples of their service include the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances, pep rallies and will lead morning assemblies. Student Council members meet once a week after school until 4:20; attending meetings is required as this is when activities are planned.
