Meet Mr. Torres

Greetings! I am William Torres, a dedicated educator based in Southern California, proudly hailing from the vibrant city of Sunland-Tujunga. I hold a B.M. in Music Performance and English Literature from the University of Redlands, bolstered by additional qualifications in Humanities and Social/Behavioral Sciences. With over six years of experience within the Los Angeles Archdiocese, I bring a unique experience to the table, rooted in my lifelong commitment to the Catholic faith.  I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to serve the Saint James faculty and create an inclusive environment where students from all backgrounds can flourish as engaged scholars.
My teaching philosophy revolves around nurturing student-led exploration, firmly believing that every child deserves a well-rounded education that celebrates and elevates their unique talents and strengths.Outside the classroom, I am deeply involved in community organizing, with a proud track record of over a decade serving Sunland-Tujunga, Pasadena, Los Angeles, and Redlands. My collaborative efforts extend across a diverse range of organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America, American Legion, The Tournament of Roses, and the American Red Cross, earning recognition from esteemed council members and senators. In my free time, you can often find me serving as an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 315 or jamming with my friends at your local musical events. I am excited about preparing the next generation for the challenges and opportunities of the world ahead and helping them discover their God-given place within it.
